Inspired by this quote, we started the journey of Venkateshwara Ventures Pvt. Ltd., formerly known as Deola Ventures Pvt. Ltd., now operating under the brand name The Ananta, in 2019. Agriculture feeds the world. This journey has been filled with ups and downs, failure of ideas, and new ideas—but we love this journey nevertheless.
In the start, our motivation was to empower the youth by providing meaningful employment opportunities related to the agriculture sector, fostering a sustainable future for all. Employment for youngsters creates a different and wonderful future for society. As the journey started, we began with a handful of employees—who are now like family. With a dedicated team, we have grown into this wonderful company that continues to grow stronger each day.
As our story began, we were new to everything. Our journey started with one commodity—Onion. In the beginning, we did not know how to identify good onion quality or how to sell in General Trade and Modern Trade. We were just a few amateurs with big ideas and hope in our hearts. We learned through many experiences.
We started in General Trade, which refers to the traditional distribution model where agricultural products are sourced directly from farmers or producers and sold through wholesalers, retailers, and local markets. We sold our first batch to Amritsar. That vehicle carried onions of 45+ mm size, and that is when we realized that we could offer more size options. “Mistakes are the portals of discovery”—and that is exactly what happened in our story.
We got our first break in Modern Trade through Waycool and then Ninjacart. From there, we ensured that quality was never compromised. We learned that if the commodity was not up to the customer’s standards, the order would get rejected. “By seeking and blundering, we learn.” With this positive mindset, we continued moving forward.
Farmers are the backbone of society; they are the ones who feed us. Food is the basic necessity of humans, and the ones who provide it should never sleep hungry. We are committed to ensuring that our company provides them with at least an assured and fair price.
